Parivarthan offers Career Counselling for those young (and not so young) people who are at a crossroad, having to make decisions on streams of study or careers that will be more suitable to them.
Career counselling is also an option for people looking for a change from their current job and are not sure what to do next. They could also get answers for why they may not be enjoying their current job.
Our services in career counselling for students, usually from Standard 9 and upwards, include inputs from parents as we are well aware that in India, parents are very involved in helping their children in making career choices.

Either the student or parent can telephone us where some initial information is collected before an appointment is set up with the Career Counsellor.
Adolescent clients
For an adolescent client, we request that both parents (as far as possible) attend the first session with the client and the counsellor meets with them for about half an hour during which an intake form is filled in separately by both parents.
Tests administered
The following tests are then administered to the client over a period of 2 sessions on different days. The duration of the sessions is usually 2-3 hours.

The information received from the tests is then analysed and collated and a Career Counselling Report prepared, and this is presented to the student with his parents with feedback, explanations and clarifications if required.
An additional session is also offered to the student to look at any emotional issues that they would like to address with the counsellor.
