Mabelle Palat

Mabelle Palat has an MA in Psychology from Annamalai University, post which she trained to be a certified counsellor, as well as completing her further training in Child and Adolescent counselling at Parivarthan. She then trained as a certified Special Educator for Children with learning disabilities at the Spastics Society of Karnataka, Bangalore. 

Mabelle has been part of the Parivarthan family for 20 years and President of the Executive Committee since 2015. She currently also volunteers as a counsellor and special educator for children at Poorna Prajnya Institute in Bangalore.

Mabelle is a mother of 5 children and has always had a love of working and educating children and young adults.

Prashant SANKARAN

Prashant Sankaran stepped off his corporate career to follow his passion for Entrepreneurship and Arts. Apart from engaging with writing and photography, he volunteers time mentoring new entrepreneurs and serves on the Boards of a few organisations, especially in the Social Sector. He is actively engaged as the Executive Director of Interweave Consulting, an organisation focussed on Diversity and Inclusion. He is also part of the founding team of the annual Bangalore Poetry Festival, one of the larger literary events in India.

Lynette Nazareth

Lynette Nazareth has a Masters in Social Work from Nirmala Niketan (1986) and completed her BSIC at Parivarthan in 2000. After this training, she received training in NLP, TA, and Gestalt and trained under Dr. Charles Day.

She has been a trainer, a consultant, and director of various prestigious organisations and is currently on Parivarthan’s Executive Committee.

 

Meera Huddar

Meera Huddar is the founder of Connectance www.connectance.in, which specializes in providing HR services to organizations at the start-up stage in the Corporate and Social sectors. She is an alumnus of Nirmala Niketan, University of Mumbai and a Certified Counsellor from Parivarthan.

As an experienced HR professional, her focus areas have been setting up HR processes, mentoring leaders through the transition from start-up to growth stage and help adopt simple processes that enhance productivity.

 

Christopher JAYAKARAN

Christopher Jayakaran is a retired Geologist. He obtained his Master’s Degree in Geology from the Presidency College, Madras in 1968. He worked as a field geologist until 2011, specializing in village water supply schemes. He has worked for non-profit organisations in India, Africa, Tanzania, Zambia, and Sierra Leone. He has worked for the Common Wealth Secretariat, Japan Techno Consultancy and German Consultancy under their collateral aid programs. His work involved planning, selection, execution, and training of the local counterparts in Groundwater Development in African villages at the grass-root level.

His other interests include wildlife photography and writing. He has authored four books in Tamil, related to Geology and Literature. Chris has been associated with Parivarthan as a member since its inception and has been a beneficiary of their consultations.

Kiran Rao

Dr. Kiran Rao is a Consultant in Mental Health & Human Development. She is a Clinical Psychologist by training, having obtained her Masters in Psychology from Bangalore University and her M.Phil and Ph.D. degrees from NIMHANS, Bangalore. She was formerly Professor & Head, Department of Clinical Psychology, National Institute of Mental Health & Neuro Sciences (NIMHANS), Bangalore, India.

Kiram has more than 3 decades of clinical, teaching, research and consultative experience. Her research has focused on understanding factors contributing to vulnerability and resilience and on the application of interventions that promote health and wellbeing. She is currently engaged in development projects integrating mental health needs with education and livelihood initiatives in the community.

 

 

Chandramohan VENUGOPAL
Chandramohan is a graduate in Engineering from Bangalore University and a post-graduate in Business Management from the IIM, Ahmedabad.
His work experience has been in ITC Ltd., Karnataka State Financial Corporation (KSFC) and Karnataka Urban Infrastructure Development and Financial Corporation (KUIDFC).
At ITC, he was involved in the development of the production of tobacco and the export of unmanufactured tobacco.
At KSFC, he was involved in the development of Small Scale and Medium Scale Industries.
At the KUIDFC, he was involved in financing and sourcing of funds towards infrastructure projects of Municipal Bodies.

Rathna Isaac

Rathna Isaac (Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology) completed her training in NIMHANS, in 2005, with a thesis on Marital Therapy with Distressed Couples. She is a therapist, supervisor, and trainer with around 20 years of experience. She is an external consultant/supervisor for the Couple and Family Therapy Programme at Parivarthan Counselling and Training Center. She has created and conducted both basic and advanced training programs on couple therapy and provides ongoing group supervision for couple counsellors.

She has conducted several training workshops for counsellors/psychotherapists at all levels and is deeply interested in the psychotherapy process.

She has also conducted workshops for laypeople on topics like gender, parenting, and aging.

She has published papers and book chapters in the areas of couple relationships, ethical issues, and psychotherapy. She recently did a 12-episode video column for the White Swan Foundation on ‘Navigating Relationships’.

Priya Pothan

Priya Pothan is a Clinical Psychologist with 20 years of Mental Health experience and 10 years of private practice in Bangalore, India. She is trained with a doctorate and an M. Phil degree in Clinical Psychology from the National Institute of Mental Health And Neuro-Sciences (NIMHANS), Bangalore. She has conducted brief formats of therapy and training programs with corporates at Human Dynamic Asia Pacific.

Priya taught post-graduate students in counselling and psychotherapy for four years as part-time faculty at Christ University and formulated and taught a psychology course at ICMIS. She was a consultant at Samkeesha (an NIOS school) and at 2mpower Health Management Services where she conducted therapy, assessments and training programs.

Priya has extensive experience with psychotherapy supervision in individual and group formats and had trained senior counsellors and therapists for 10 years. At her private clinic, she conducts psychotherapy sessions for individuals, couples, and families with or without psychiatric difficulties. She seeks to alleviate and prevent mental health difficulties by enhancing awareness about psychological issues at the community level through media, and programs at schools, colleges, banks, corporates, churches, and other community gatherings.

Sophie C.

Based in Bangalore Sophie Christopher consults in the areas of Life Coaching, Psychotherapy and Process Work.

Sophie is a PCC from ICF and a faculty member with Sumedhas Academy for Human Context and has facilitated many labs offered by Sumedhas, an institute dedicated to enhancing self- awareness, and self- reflection. She is an alumnus of the National Institute of Design, Ahmedabad.

Padma Mahadev

Padma Mahadev is a counsellor trained with Parivarthan. Her early interest was in teaching and did her training which taught her the creative side of teaching and moved from there to business.

Padma found herself, in her latest career iteration, back at Parivarthan where she was forced to relook at being herself. Her interest initially was in helping women facing empty nests but she now uses her experience to provide emotional support to cancer patients and their caregivers. She is also in the process of putting together a health packet which will encourage everyone to put their Health first.

Chitra T.V.

Chitra is a Counselling Psychologist with a Masters degree in Psychology and advanced certifications in Basic Counselling, Child & Adolescent counselling and Couple & Family therapy.

She has been associated with many organisations and educational institutes as an EAP consultant & Parent coach.

Chitra is also a trainer in Life Skills, Relationship Skills, and Pre Marital guidance. She has been facilitating  Life Script work with trainee counsellors and others.

Nidhi Kapur

Nidhi Kapur, M.Sc. (Psychology – 2015, University Of Madras (IDE), MCA, B.Sc. (Comp. Sc.); Certificate in Counselling (BSIC)-2012, Certificate in Child and Adolescent Counselling-2013, Certificate in Couple and Family Counselling -2014 from Parivarthan.
Nidhi has over seven years of experience with expertise working with adolescents, adults, and couples across varied domains, with a focus on supporting personal growth and promoting better relationships.
Nidhi uses an integrative counselling approach that brings together different elements of specific therapies like Humanistic, Client-Centred Counselling, and CBT, with a focus on the individuals who are experiencing situational stressors, relationship issues, depression or anxiety. She believes that every human being can attain contentment and confidence, with the support and guidance of a psychological expert.

Srividya M.

Srividya Muralikrishna has been in the field of Counselling since her completion of the One Year  Training Programme, Basic Skills in Counselling (BSIC) at Parivarthan in 2013. She has a Post-graduation in Psychology (2017) and Business Administration(1999). Srividya has done her advanced training in Basic Skills in Child and Adolescent Counselling(2014), and Basic Skills in Couple and Family Counselling(2014) from Parivarthan. She is a certified practitioner of Integral Somatic Psychology(2019).

Srividya works with diverse age groups.  She has worked with children and adolescents at the Centre for Child and Law and  Bosco Rainbow Home. Srividya has worked with Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore as their Student Counsellor.  She was associated with Employee Associate Programs as a Consultant Counsellor. She is presently engaged with Parivarthan as a Counsellor.  She is associated with MVJ Engineering college as their Student Counsellor and as a Consultant Counsellor with a Hospital. She has been with Parivarthan Counselling Helpline since 2014.

Srividya uses an Integrative approach in her practice.  She believes that individuals have an innate potential to grow and change and hence facilitates the process of self-awareness. She is fluent in English and Tamil.

Amrita Kaur

Amrita Kaur has a Post Graduate Degree in Human Resources from the Symbiosis Institute of Business Management Pune and Certifications in Counselling (BSIC), Couple and Family Counselling from Parivarthan.

She has over 18 years of experience as a Practitioner and Educationist in the field of Human Resources and Organization Behavior & Psychology.

Amrita follows the integrative approach to counselling and works with adolescents, adults and couples. She has also done emotional wellness programs for corporate executives and individual & group therapy under the EAP umbrella.

She believes that individuals need to be held and supported with unconditional positive regard in their journey towards emotional and mental well-being.

APARNA R.

Aparna Ramkrishnan is a Movement Psychotherapist registered with The Association of Dance Movement Psychotherapy UK (ADMPUK) and The Indian Association of Dance Movement Therapy India (IADMT). She has a Masters degree in Dance Movement psychotherapy from Goldsmiths, University of London. She also holds a Masters of Science in Medical Sociology from The University of Madras and a Post Diploma In Bharatanatyam from Kalakshetra Foundation, Chennai.

Aparna works both with individuals and groups in a variety of community settings. She has worked with a varied client population from adolescents to adults.
For her, integrating mental health with the use of the body as a creative outlet helps bring a sense of oneness. In addition, she believes that each movement of the body is an adventure, where, with the support provided by the therapeutic relationship, one seeks to explore something new each time. She also holds a strong ethical outlook of creating a safe space of inclusivity and non-judgment.

Rakesh Mehar

Rakesh is a certified counsellor from Parivarthan. He has completed training in Basic Skills in Counselling (2019), Child and Adolescent Counselling (2019) and Couple and Family Counselling (2021). He is also a certified queer affirmative counsellor (QACP, 2019).

Rakesh aims to help clients develop a nurturing view of themselves so they can build more centred and fulfilling lives. To aid them in this, he wants to help clients develop a holistic and empowering view of their patterns of response to different situations. As an integrative therapist, he brings a combination of therapeutic strategies to support this process. One key strategy is creating a safe space in which clients can navigate the changes they seek.

Prior to becoming a counsellor, Rakesh worked in journalism. His educational training has been in Journalism and Psychology (Christ College, Bangalore) and in Politics (MA, University of Hyderabad; MPhil, Jawaharlal Nehru University).

Tejsweeta Singh
Tejsweeta Singh is a certified counsellor, having completed her Basic Skills in Counseling, BSIC (2019), CAC (2019), CFC (2021). She has worked with diverse age groups, including adolescents in a high school, young adults at corporates and educational institutes, as well as older clients , in areas like relationships, decision making, grief, anxiety and depression.

She is passionate about exploring the possibilities for self-awareness, healing and wellness and believes that all human beings have the resources and ability to make changes in their lives. Counselling can be an effective means to unlock this potential. She offers counselling in English and Hindi.
